I. September 04, 2025

After spending the whole night with my deceased Joey, wanting answers as to what happened, we

took Joey to another pet hospital and had an X-ray taken. It took a couple of days to get the digital

image sent to us. Not understanding why there was a delay for a digital image to be emailed to us.

Later we learned that veterinarians watch out for other veterinarians just like people doctors do. We

made the mistake of telling this pet hospital that another clinic had killed the dog.

II. The X-Ray

When we got the x-ray image we sent it to a friend who is a radiologist at Dallas Medical Center. He

had the image for only 15 minutes when he text us back asking "What happened to this dog?" He

pointed out the dark tube from the lung area to the throat and said that is the windpipe the dark color

means it is air. He then told us this dark tube should go up to the nose but this one stops at the

throat.  He told us this is very disturbing and indicates the dog was choked or held by such force

that it has crushed the dogs trachea. With the trachea crushed and flattened this dog could

not breathe.  He also said the neck looks suspicious for possible neck fracture.

 

III. Took the x-ray image to Club Hill for an explanation
After getting the X-ray image we took it to Club Hill Animal Clinic for an explanation. We asked for
Dr. Atwal and was told he was handling an emergency and couldn't be disturbed. So we asked
for Lizbeth.

 

She came out and we asked what had happened the day Joey died. She had no
explanation. We then showed her the X-ray and asked that she tell us what she saw in it. Knowing
she couldn't give us a good opinion as she is not trained in this area.

 

She told us the image looked normal and then told us the black tube from the throat to the

chest was the air pipe and when we asked doesn't it look abnormal since the air pipe stops

at the throat. She then used her phone to pull up a image of a normal x-ray of the same area.

Not realizing she just gave away that there is a problem here as the two images are very different.

 

She refused to acknowledge that Joey's x-ray showed damage to his throat. She offered to

do an autopsy on Joey to help determine the cause of death. There was no way I would let

them touch Joey again. And if they did do the autopsy I wouldn't trust them to give us to

the true results. But Joey had been through enough and I wouldn't let anyone cut him up now.
 

IV. Started Searching for Outside Help
We started calling and making reports to several agencies to hopefully find someone to help us since
Club Hill was not accepting that they killed Joey. Below is a list of places we contacted an the results.

(1) Garland Police Department to file a abuse case. They took the report and called just a
few days later to tell us they would not be filing any criminal charges. That decision was made
after they made as phone call to the clinic for their side of the story. The Police decided to
believe the clinic. (a decision the police will regret making)

(2) The Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. I filed a formal complaint,
#CP26-0023. And after 11 months of investigating my complaint I was told they have
decided to dismiss my complaint because they found no wrong doing. I am appealing
that decision.

(3) After hearing the Board's dismissal decision I notified and wrote to each Board Member
expressing my feelings that this was total crap.

(4) I notified Congressman, Senators, and Governor Abbott, The Texas Attorney General
So far nobody wants to admit that this clinic is responsible for Joey's death.

 

Allegation: The family reports that communication and decisions made during Joey’s visit did not meet the expected standard of care.
